Introduction of IB-AP Certification:
Mr. Praveen Prakash revealed that the state government is actively working on a comprehensive roadmap for the introduction of the International Baccalaureate (IB) syllabus in state-run schools. Discussions between a delegation from IB and senior state officials on October 23 centered on the implementation of IB-AP joint certification for students in Classes 10 and 12. Innovative Entrepreneurship Course:
Additionally, the state plans to introduce an entrepreneurship course tailored specifically for students in Classes 9 to 12. This initiative, developed by renowned entrepreneur Sabeer Bhatia, aims to nurture the spirit of entrepreneurship among young minds, preparing them for future challenges in the professional world.
AI-Powered Language Education:
Mr. Prakash also met with officials from the Spanish and German Embassies to explore the development of an AI-generated “Digital Teacher” for teaching Spanish and German languages. State Education Achievement Survey (SEAS):
Furthermore, the state is gearing up for the inaugural State Education Achievement Survey (SEAS) scheduled for November 3. Conducted by the National Assessment regulator PARAKH (Performance Assessment, Review and Analysis of Knowledge for Holistic Development), SEAS aims to assess and enhance learning standards for students in Classes 3, 6, and 9. This survey, covering 11 million students across the country, will identify areas needing improvement in learning, setting the stage for future educational reforms.
Mr. Prakash emphasized the significance of SEAS and encouraged six lakh students from Classes 3, 6, and 9 in Andhra Pradesh to participate. Acknowledging the potential nervousness among students and teachers attempting a national-level examination in English medium for the first time, he urged district Collectors and District Education Officers to organize mock tests until November 2. These practice tests will provide valuable experience and boost confidence among students and educators alike.
