Actress Trisha Strongly condemns ‘Sexist Remarks’ of ‘Leo’ movie Actor Mansoor Ali Khan

In a recent interview, Mansoor Ali Khan, the actor who played a cameo role in the movie Leo, stated, ‘When I heard that I was acting with Trisha, I thought there would be a bedroom scene in the film. I thought that I could carry her to a bedroom just like I did with other actresses in my earlier movies. I have done so many rape scenes in several films, and it is not new to me. But these guys did not even show Trisha to me on the sets during the Kashmir schedule. 

Reacting to the footage in the X (formerly Twitter), Actress Trisha tweeted that Mansoor Ali Khan’s behaviour is in a ‘vile and disgusting manner. I strongly condemn this and find it sexist, disrespectful, misogynistic, repulsive and in bad taste.’ She further stated that she will not share the screen with him in future and proclaimed he is ‘bring a bad name to mankind’

Ironically, he also said the same dialogue in front of actress Thrisha and Madona Sebastian during the Leo success meet. The villain actor Mansoor stated that I was happy to get an offer to act with Thrisha, so I could repeat my cliché roles (rape scene) in earlier films. But it did not happen. Then I expected I would get a chance to do it with Madonna, but they offered me a brother role. It was a big disappointment.  

Support for Trisha grows

Leo Director Lokesh Kanagaraj condemned the behaviour of Mansoor Ali Khan, stating, ‘Disheartened and enraged to hear the misogynistic comments’ and requested all industry fraternity to ‘Respect for women, fellow artists and professionals’

The reputed film Producer and Vijay’s ‘Bigil’ film financier, Archana Kalpathi, called for severe action, and she mentioned it is an absolutely unacceptable behaviour.

Tamil Singer Chinmayi Sripaada said, ‘This is not the first incident in the industry; there are a lot of men who are like this.’ She told earlier actors like Robo Shankar, Cool Suresh and Radha Ravi made such vulgar statements. Nobody ever condemned as they have money, power and influence. 

Social Activist Shalin Maria Lawrence furiously remarked, What is happening? Why these men will not change? How come they normalise rape as a fetish statement?

Revisiting Old Sexist Statements

Social Media is also revisiting Thalapathy Vijay’s old disgusting remarks about the actress. In an interview, Actor Shyam revealed that actor Vijay (his friend) commented that ‘in your first film itself, you got ‘rendu kuthirai’ two horses (sexist term), Jyothika and Simran.’

Another user pointed out Superstar Rajinikanth is also another Mansoor Ali Khan for his remarks on Tamannaah, ‘I did not speak to her properly’ (distasteful comment)

Malayalam actor Harisree Ashokan stated that Mansoor Ali Khan is a senseless actor as he brutally kicked on his chest during a fight scene, even after requesting him to be soft.
