“Hi Nanna” Movie Review

HI nanna movie review

The movie is about the emotional connection between a daughter and father in the backdrop and what happens next when she enters into a soothing love relationship. The emotion between the father and daughter is presented well. The first half of the movie is slow-paced, but the film is quite organic and slowly builds momentum and explores characters. The chemistry between Nani and Mrunal Thakur is enchanting to watch. Abdul Wahab’s background score and music are mellifluous and a significant positive to the film.  The interval fight sets the tone for the movie and from there, the story moves fast.

The second half is packed emotionally with brilliant performances. Particularly, Nani, Mrunal Thakur, and Baby Kiara’s performance is impressive and perfect. The cinematography of Sanu Varghese is a visual treat with excellent lighting. Shruti Haasan’s interesting dance enthrals the audience on a high note. Praveen Anthony’s editing gives the narration with top-notch production value, despite the predictability.

Albeit, it is a conventional love story, the screenplay of debutant director Shouryuv, with a couple of twists holds the movie. The 155-minutes movie beautifully explores the subtleness of love, marriage and parenthood which nourish the soul. Overall, Hi Nanna is a cool breezy emotional melodrama intertwined with a fabulous entertainment package.
