Animal: A step-by-step guide on How to Raise an Alpha Male!

Animal a guide to raise an alpha male

Animal the movie, delves into exploring the Father-Son relationship, gives a clear step-by-step guide on ‘How to Raise an Alpha Male!

Balbir Singh [Anil Kapoor] who loves his wife as long as she stays silent, has managed to build a business empire and raise an alpha male at the same time by ignoring the child. The movie further shows very closely, how any person can raise such an alpha male, who can be a genius and a killer at the same time.

Step I – Give them rich people trauma

The Balbir Singh family is very religious and feminist at the core. They love their women and make sure they stay in doors. In such a big empire, only the male children are given priority. It is made very clear that Ranbir’s elder sister who is very beautiful and talented, is not given any importance in the business handling but her husband is the blue eyed boy of the family.

Apart from the rich people trauma, of sacrificing a Michael Jackson show for a family function, Ranbir’s character fights with the ghosts of his father’s busy life to ensure the money flows to the family coffers. Though he enjoys the airplanes, bikes, cars, bungalows, house help and other amenities that his father have bought for him, he is sad that his father doesn’t show up for family function. In the absence of his father at home, he wants to take up the role of the ‘Man of the House’. A man of the house, who goes to the school with a big gun scaring teenagers who mocked his sister.

Step II – Teach them how Alpha Male hunts and conquers

The Papa’s boy [Ranbir], tells Geethanjali, the character of Rashmika, that in ancient times, women had all the power to choose who would mate with them. He [Ranbir] goes on to explain the concept of “ALPHA male” to Geethanjali by explaining how women would decide who to mate with based on which male was able to hunt the best. Vanga, the director of the film, truly believes he has revolutionary ideas about love, romance, men and women.

The movie storyline starts with Geethanjali when she gets mind-blown by the information of ALPHA  male living in her proximity and leaves her engagement to marry Ranbir because he is a rich Papa’s boy whose flashy lifestyle is a consequence of his father’s wealth and not his prowess with the gun or bullet. When Papa’s boy compliments her on the size of her ‘pelvis’, she immediately recognises that he is the ALPHA, that should father her children.

Step III – High Testosterones levels all the time

Further in the movie, in order to find the attacker of his father, Ranbir sleeps around with other women [Bhabhi 2], but when Geethanjali mentions divorce, he tells her that divorce is not a solution. He also tells her that she should not remarry in case he dies. Basically, the movie revolves around the fact hat Geethanjali can select and sleep with an Alpha only as long as it is Papa’s boy, Ranbir’s character. He is loving as long as Geethanjali respects his decisions and stays silent like his mother does for his father.

Animal is a movie where the hero kills more than 100 people in order to protect his family because he has power and he knows he can’t be arrested. Moreover, the story of the movie revolves around daddy issues and muddled themes to underscore “hurt people hurt people”. The movie unleashes non-stop visual and auditory assault on the audience to drive the point home with a cigarette packet folded on their T-shirt sleeves.

In addition to Geethanjali (played by Rashmika), there were other female actresses named Tripti Dimri, Taru Devani, Mrinmayee Godbole, Shabana Haror, and Shafina. All these characters were portrayed as being associated with the ‘ALPHA’ characters. This can be justified by two scenes in the movie. In one scene, Ranbir visits his village to meet his cousin, and the women in the village comment, “The man looks nice,” with expressions highlighting that he is the perfect ALPHA male.

Another interesting scene unfolds when Ranbir, in the course of saving his family, fights with his enemy and becomes deaf. He loses his ability to smell and taste. In this scene, Rashmika hugs him, but he can’t feel her. She removes her clothes to make him feel through his eyes. But, Ranbir feels quite a lot when he finds another woman [Tripti Dimri] with a big pelvis. And its also very important to keep the other woman in the ancestral family home, so she could feel closer to the family.

Step IV – A similar anti-hero who loves more women

Lastly, there’s a scene involving Abrar (played by Bobby Deol), who acts as the villain in the movie. He marries eight times, and in his eighth marriage, he receives news that his brother has been shot. In an attempt to alleviate his depression, he engages in a sexual act with his newly wedded wife in front of everyone. His wives have learnt their ways around Abrar and know their respective places. They know how to light a cigarette or two to make the life feel lighter.

The hero also has a plot armor to save himself from the big bad guy. Just, when you think the hero has lost, he remembers his toxic father and rise up to the occasion and butchers the bad guy with a designer knife.

Vanga Boy ‘Director with a vision’

After receiving criticism for the glorified abuse and toxic masculinity in his other notorious film Kabir Singh, Vanga has come back for revenge on the critics. He simply made an original piece of artwork that shows that an Alpha male in the modern society must do what is to be done without seeking any sense of guilt.

In his previous work, Kabir Singh Vanga showed us how to treat a house maid nicely and in this film, he has shown how to make the house maids invisible. The characters who are very prominent in the film seem to avoid any eye contact with the house helps and use them as tools as they deserve.

No love lost between ‘Animal’ and Humans

While the movie ‘Animal’ is itself controversial, especially considering the animal kingdom where the queen of the jungle is the female lion depicted as fearless, the movie portrays males as fearless. There is an exception in the bird category, where males are considered beautiful, like peacocks. The film not only misrepresents human characters but also distorts the portrayal of animals.

As we know humans have evolved from animals through the process of million of years. Although there is a significant difference between animals and humans, as animals tend to stay in one place while humans migrate, evolve and adapt to various circumstances.

In this movie, Vanga takes us back to the time of ‘ANIMAL’. I am eagerly awaiting his next movie, which he should  name as ‘HUMAN‘ and show us how to raise an alpha human male!
