Custodial Death in Devarakonda Constituency Under Investigation: BRS Leader Implicated

BRS Leader

The lockup death in Chintapalli PS of Devarakonda Constituency of Nalgonda District has become a sensation in Telangana. The conflict that was silenced with the intervention of local leaders in Annadammula Land Panchayat, has now gained widespread public attention.

BRS Leader Under Fire

According to the sources, the person responsible for this is said to be a BRS leader. The news has become the centre of public attention as the land dispute case between brothers led them to seek police intervention with political interference. Suryanayak of Palem Thanda had a land dispute with his brother-in-law. The locals have accused the local Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituency [MPTC] Vasant Naik of interfering in this matter. According to the locals Suryanayak died at the police station due to physical injuries at the hands of the Chintapalli SS Satish Reddy. As per sources, when Surya was taken to hospital, the doctors declared him dead.

Allegations and Controversy

After Surya’s death, the relatives alleged that the postmortem had been started before their arrival. They say that they stopped the process upon their arrival. Further, the relatives also criticised MPTC Vasant Naik for assaulting SSI. A family member accused the authorities of foul play because of the involvement of the BRS leader.

Presently, the police say that SS Satish Reddy, the one who is accused of all the allegations is not cooperating. The Chintapalli lockup death underscores a tragic culmination of a family land dispute, exacerbated by alleged political interference involving the BRS leader.
