Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy disbursed a total of Rs. 41.59 crores to 390 eligible students under the ‘Jagananna Videshi Vidya Deevena’ scheme on December 20th. Among these, 95 students who qualified for the civil services prelims received Rs. 1 lakh each, while 11 students who qualified for the civil services mains exam received Rs. 1.50 lakh each.
CM Jagan emphasized that the YSRCP government is committed to providing financial assistance to students, enabling them to pursue their dreams of studying abroad, and ensuring that the financial burden does not fall on the parents. He added that the introduction of the ‘Jagananna Videshi Vidya Deevena’ scheme aims to transform the destinies of students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, including those from poor and middle-class families.

Jagan over ‘Jagananna Videshi Vidya Deevena’
CM YS Jagan emphasised that students who secure admission to prestigious universities abroad need not worry about fees. Parents are not required to take on any debts, as the YSRCP government will provide financial support through the ‘Jagananna Videshi Vidya Deevena’ scheme.
He added that the YSRCP government is offering Rs. 1.25 crore for SC, ST, BC, and minority students who secure seats in reputable foreign universities, and Rs. 1 crore for other students. He mentioned that approximately 51 students have recently gained admissions to foreign universities, and this initiative covers a total of 350 colleges under 50 reputed universities, selected based on the rankings of the Times Higher Education or QS World Universities Rankings. Jagan said this scheme is satisfying; it’s an aspiration. This scheme would be helpful to change students’ fates and help motivate other students to study well.

Jagan appeal to students
Chief Minister Jagan has urged students benefiting from the ‘Jagananna Videshi Vidya Deevena’ financial aid to consider contributing back to the state of Andhra Pradesh once they achieve success. He emphasized that if these students attain prominent positions, such as CEOs in corporate companies, they should extend support to fellow Andhra Pradesh students in their endeavors.
