The incumbent Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, has garnered attention for his aspiration to transform Vizag into a ‘Beach IT destination’. Over the period, numerous initiatives have been carried out to encourage multinational corporations to establish their development centers within the confines of the bustling metropolitan city. It is indeed intriguing to observe that Visakhapatnam, colloquially known as Vizag, has received significant attention from developers owing to its flourishing economy and potentiality.
A couple of days back, Manpreet Khaira, CEO and founder of the US-based Substrate India Manufacturing Pvt. Ltd, visited Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and assured him to set up a manufacturing plant. Khaira intends to develop an industry specialising in producing AI-based equipment and instruments in the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) Special Economic Zone (SEZ) at Atchutapuram in Anakapalle district. Indeed, preliminary consultations were conducted with the delegates of the Substrate pertaining to the R&D manufacturing centre of equipment based on artificial intelligence. The Chief Minister has expressed a strong commitment to providing complete support in this endeavour, which fosters talent in the youth and improves basic infrastructure in the state.

The Substrate AI technology, which was collaboratively developed by Bren Worth and the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York, incorporates principles from neuroscience and psychology.
