In the heart of Bihar, political strategist Prashant Kishore has been orchestrating a unique campaign known as Jan Suraj. Over the past year, he has been tirelessly leading a padyatra across the state, capturing the attention of the public. Kishore recently hinted at supporting an independent candidate who shares the vision of his Jan Suraj movement for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

TDP to Provide Funding for Prashant Kishore’s Political Party?

What sets Kishore apart is his plan to transform Jan Suraj into a full-fledged political party once it completes its journey across Bihar. However, running a political party requires funds, and Kishore seems to have a strategic solution. In a recent interview, he disclosed his intention to play the role of a mentor for Showtime Consulting, the group currently managing the Telugu Desam Party’s (TDP) campaign in Andhra Pradesh. This mentorship role could potentially serve as a financial source for Kishore’s political aspirations in Bihar.

Kishore’s Moves Reshape Bihar Politics

Adding to the intrigue, Kishore met with Chandrababu Naidu, the national president of the TDP, raising speculations about his advisory role within the party. Notably, Kishore’s Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC) played a pivotal role in the YSR Congress Party’s triumph in Andhra Pradesh in 2019. I-PAC has been rehired for the 2024 elections, underlining the significance of Kishore’s strategic expertise.

Beyond Bihar, political calculations are being influenced by the recent results in Telangana, where the Congress scored a surprising victory against the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi. This has prompted political actors in Andhra Pradesh to adjust their strategies, considering similarities in issues between the two Telugu states.
