Who will be the BRSLP leader?

BRS Leader of

Kalvakuntla Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), the former Chief Minister of Telangana, who anticipated a hat-trick victory for the BRS party, now finds himself in the opposition. The question arises: Will KCR, who avoids even uttering Revanth Reddy’s name, participate in the assembly and confront Chief Minister Revanth Reddy as the leader of the opposition? Some analysts assert that KCR is unlikely to appear in the assembly; instead, he may opt to run for Lok Sabha elections and enter Parliament as a Member of Parliament (MP). Following the electoral defeat of the BRS party, KCR has maintained silence to date. He has left Pragati Bhavan and relocated to his farmhouse in Erravalli, Gajwel.

Who will be the BRSLP leader?

Congress has elected Revanth Reddy as the CLP after winning in the recent assembly elections, subsequently, he became the Chief Minister. However, the BRS party has not yet elected a leader for the BRSLP. As the opposition party, it’s a tough time for BRS, with speculations surrounding KCR not attending the assembly. If this is the case, who will take on that responsibility?

Currently, KTR is the working president of the party. It’s possible that KCR will assign the responsibility of the BRSLP leader to KTR. This presents an opportunity for KTR to prove himself in the opposition, potentially helping him rise as a mass leader. Alongside KTR, two other names are surfacing for the BRSLP leader position: Harish Rao, the troubleshooter of the party, and Kadiyam Srihari, a senior leader. Given the criticism BRS faces for being perceived as a family-run party, there is a possibility of making Kadiyam Srihari, a Dalit leader, the BRSLP leader.During the Telangana statehood movement, BRS party chief KCR represented the Lok Sabha as an MP from 2004 to 2014. In 2004, Vijaya Ramana Rao, and in 2009, Etela Rajender, both senior leaders of the party at the time, held the responsibility of TRSLP leader. Vijaya Ramana Rao is a dalit leader and Etela Rajender belongs to BC community.

Electing the BRSLP leader may face delays

KCR recently, while interacting with the newly elected BRS MLAs at his farmhouse, informed them about an upcoming meeting at the party office in Telangana Bhavan, Hyderabad. He told them, In that meeting, a review of the election results will take place, and the BRSLP leader will be elected. However, KCR’s recent hospitalisation due to a hip fracture, requiring potential surgery, may cause further delays in this process.

As KCR has been hospitalised, the BRS cadre is distressed. On the other side, the anti-KCR group on social media is criticising him, insinuating that his hospitalisation is a drama to avoid the assembly for a few months, and claiming he doesn’t want to see Revanth Reddy in the CM position. The BRS followers are warning the anti-KCR group who are making trolls at this moment of KCR’s hospitalisation.
