Attempted Murder against BRS MP Prabhakar Reddy.. Shocking Incident Ahead of Elections

BRS Mla knife attack

In a shocking incident, there was an attempted murder against Kotha Prabhakar Reddy, the Dubbaka BRS MLA candidate and Medak MP. As part of his election campaign, Prabhakar Reddy conducted a door-to-door campaign today in Surampalli village, Doulatabad mandal, Dubbak constituency. While he was leaving after visiting a pastor’s house, an unknown person attacked him with a knife. Prabhakar Reddy sustained injuries to his stomach. The BRS workers immediately took him to Gajwel government hospital, and later he was rushed to a private hospital in Hyderabad for better treatment.

Accused identified Raju from Congress : BRS raises doubts

The accused, identified as Dattani Raju, approached MP Kotha Prabhakar Reddy to shake hands. Suddenly, Raju took out a knife and attacked Reddy. The BRS cadre managed to catch Raju and beat him before the police arrested him. According to preliminary information, Raju is from the village of Peddapyala in the Mirudoddi mandal and currently works as a reporter for a YouTube channel. BRS cadre suspected him of being a Congress worker, and BRS spokesperson Krishank indirectly raised this doubt by sharing a photo of the accused wearing a Congress scarf around his neck.

After learning about the incident, Minister Harish Rao immediately canceled his public meeting in Narayankhed and instead started to Gajwel. In the meantime, he spoke to the doctors treating MP Kotha Prabhakar Reddy as well as his family members to inquire about his health status.

Murder Attempt Videos circulated on social Media

Telangana politics is known for being distant from any occurrences of violence. Today’s murder attempt on MP Kotha Prabhakar Reddy has shocked everyone. Shortly after the incident, videos of the attack were circulated on social media. The police are currently investigating whether it is linked to any political motives or other factors.

Dubbaka previously a stronghold of BRS

Dubbaka was previously a stronghold of the BRS party. However, in the 2020 by-election, the party lost its seat to BJP candidate Raghunandan Rao by a narrow margin of 1079 votes. The by-election was conducted following the death of sitting MLA Solipeta Ramalingareddy, and his wife Sujatha Reddy contested from the BRS party. Raghunandan Rao had previously contested from the BJP twice but was limited to the third position. Before the Dubbak by-election, Raghunandan had contested for the Medak Lok Sabha seat  in 2019 lost to Kotha Prabhakar Reddy. For the upcoming elections, the BRS party has given the ticket to MP Kotha Prabhakar Reddy from Dubbaka and is very confident of winning the seat. Meanwhile, Raghunandan Rao is also very confident of winning a second time from Dubbaka. However, the latest incident, the assassination attempt on Prabhakar Reddy, may have an impact on the upcoming elections.
