EPS to Stalin: “He is asking if we can name our PM candidate, but can DMK, which is part of the INDIA coalition, name their PM candidate.”

During his speech at the Sankarankovil in Tenkasi, Edapaddi K. Palaniswami, the General Secretary of the All-India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), strongly criticised the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party and MK Stalin. This occasion marked the commencement of the 52nd-anniversary celebrations of the AIADMK.

Blatant Attack on Stalin

The EPS claimed that the DMK party can be characterised as a corporate entity, with MK Stalin serving as its leader and Udhayanidhi, along with other members of his family, assuming the role of directors inside the organisation. The current Chief Minister, Stalin, is perceived as strongly influencing the film industry, leading to his depiction as a puppet leader.

Interestingly, exclusive permission is solely granted to film works created by his family enterprises under the family members’ ownership. In contrast, films made by external entities are categorically refused equivalent privileges.

Abuse of Power!

EPS expressed the need for the DMK to stop its abuse of power within the film industry. This statement was made in reference to the current dispute between supporters of actor Thalapathy Vijay and the DMK government around the rejection of early morning screenings for the film Leo. He further stated that over the preceding two and a half years of the DMK administration, there has been a state of stagnation, with no apparent progress or advancement.

Government of Corruption and Commission!

He further remarked that the DMK party is plagued by allegations of corruption and the acceptance of commissions. The sole achievement they have attained pertains to deceiving individuals through false electoral commitments, such as the Magalir Urimai Thogai initiative, wherein cash rewards are bestowed upon richer people and DMK party members. At the same time, the underprivileged are denied their rightful entitlements. However, disappointed individuals express their dissatisfaction with the shortcomings of the DMK party, although they employ strategic moves such as the Sanatana conflict incident to divert attention from substantive problems and get electoral backing.

Who is BJP’s B-Team?

Furthermore, EPS stated that after the separation of AIADMK from the BJP alliance, Stalin claimed that the AIADMK would function as a B-Team to BJP, as he harboured apprehensions regarding the possibility of the upcoming 2024 parliamentary defeat. EPS reverted to Stalin, “He is asking if we can name our PM candidate, but can DMK, which is part of the India coalition, name their PM candidate?”

Failure of DMK Government

In reference to the projects approved and implemented inside the Sankarankovil constituency in Tenkasi, the Edappadi K. Palaniswami expressed disapproval of the statements made by the Chief Minister, M.K. Stalin, alleging that no progress was made during the ten-year tenure of the All-India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) party.

According to EPS, it was asserted that Stalin and his son made a commitment to rescind the NEET policy quickly upon assuming power. However, it is alleged that they ultimately deceived people by neglecting to fulfil their pledge. The increase in taxation, particularly the power tariff, and its impact on the inflationary trend were attributed by EPS to the DMK.

In addition, the EPS emphasised the potential risks associated with vector-borne diseases. According to his statement, hospitals are experiencing shortages in both medication and staff. The state is grappling with a severe law and order issue. The speaker emphasised the lack of protection for women constables in the state.

Nevertheless, DMK Ministers denied the allegations of corruption and failure of governance. They retaliated that EPS is attempting to conceal and divert the public from disproportionate cases against the AIADMK ministers.
