The attack on an RTC driver in Kavali, Nellore district has taken a political turn. The TDP has alleged that the accused belong to the YSRCP and has demanded severe action against them. In response to these allegations, Kavali YSRCP MLA Ramireddy held a press conference where he denounced the TDP’s claims and revealed that the accused actually belong to Janasena, and TDP not YSRCP. He presented some photographs as evidence, one of which showed one of the accused Arun Kumar with Janasena leader Pasupuleti Sudhakar, while another photograph featured him holding a placard that read ‘I support Babu’. MLA Ramireddy said another accused Shiva Reddy also belongs to Janasena.
What actually happened?
A super luxury bus, registered as AP16Z 0702, was returning from Bengaluru to Vijayawada on the last Friday (Oct 27th). At the outskirts of Kavali town, the bus driver, B. Ram Singh, was attacked by some individuals. The driver honked the horn when he noticed a two-wheeler vehicle blocking the way, and he requested the driver to move the bike. The motorcyclist engaged in an argument with the driver, and the police arrived at the scene, convinced both and resolved the issue.
Later, the motorcyclist informed his friends about the incident, and they decided to follow the RTC bus. When the bus arrived at the Maddurupadu agriculture market committee godowns, they intercepted the bus and proceeded to verbally abuse and brutally attack the driver. Some passengers recorded this assault on their mobile phones, and the footage went viral after being uploaded to social media. Upon learning about the incident, the police arrived at the location, transported the bus driver to the hospital, and filed cases against the perpetrators.
Lokesh and Nandendla allegations against YSRCP!
TDP General Secretary Nara Lokesh responded to the attack on an RTC driver in Kavali, alleging that the accused belong to the YSRCP. He criticized Chief Minister YS Jagan for supposedly killing his uncle YS Vivekananda because he saw him as an obstacle to his corrupt activities. Lokesh added that Jagan’s fans, inspired by him, attacked the RTC bus driver, highlighting that under Jagan’s rule, Andhra Pradesh has become a “faction pradesh.”
Janasena PAC Chairman Nandendla Manohar criticized the YSRCP in response to the attack on the RTC bus driver. He stated that since the YSRCP came to power in Andhra Pradesh, anarchy has spread throughout the state, with no development taking place. He alleged that the YSRCP is misusing power and supporting criminals and thugs. He sarcastically remarked that it would not be surprising if the YSRCP enacted policies making it a crime to honk horns, ride bicycles, or walk on roads.
MLA Ramireddy challenges Lokesh
Kavali MLA Ramireddy has condemned the allegations made by TDP and Janasena against YSRCP. He revealed photos of the accused individuals, stating that they have connections with Janasena and TDP. Ramireddy mentioned Gurramkonda Sudheer as the main accused in this incident and alleged that he has hundreds of cases filed against him in four states. Furthermore, he claimed that Gurramkonda Arun Kumar, who is one of the accused, has links with Janasena leader Pasupuleti Sudhakar. Ramireddy provided a photo of Arun with Sudhakar as evidence, claiming that Sudhakar is currently attempting to secure a TDP ticket for the upcoming elections.

He also revealed another photo of Arun Kumar holding a placard that reads ‘I support Babu’. Ramireddy alleged that another accused individual, Shiva Reddy, also belongs to the Janasena party. He also alleged that a BJP youth leader was also part of the attacked gang. Ramireddy claimed that Pasupuleti Sudhakar has many such gangs, all based in Hyderabad. Additionally, he challenged Nara Lokesh, stating that he is ready to quit politics if anybody can provide evidence proving the involvement of YSRCP members in the assault on the bus driver.
