Will ‘Rajashyamala Yagam’ help KCR to regain power in Telangana?

kcr Rajashyamala-Yagam

Chief Minister of Telangana, Kalvakuntla Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), has a strong sense of devotion and a deep belief in divinity. He diligently follows Hindu puja rituals, yajnas, and yagam, especially when initiating any important work, seeking the blessings of the Lord. In 2015, when the TRS came to power in the separate state of Telangana, KCR organized a grand ‘Ayutha Maha Chandi Yagam’ at his farmhouse in Erravalli, in Siddipet district. This event was noted as the first time a Chief Minister had conducted such a large-scale yagam. Subsequently, in 2018, ahead of the early assembly elections, KCR conducted the Sahasra Chandi Yagam. He followed it with another yagam in 2019, stating that it is for the well being of Telangana. Additionally, in 2022, during the opening of the BRS office in Delhi, KCR performed the Rajashyamala Yagam. As the Telangana elections are approaching, KCR is once again performing the Rajashyamala Yagam.

KCR following the sentiment

When KCR came to power for the first time in 2015, the Ayuta Maha Chandi Yag was held for 5 days from December 23 to 27. The elections were held on December 7, 2018. In November, he conducted the Rajashyamala Yaga. In that election, TRS won 88 out of 119 seats. On January 21, 2019, just a few days after coming to power for the second time, KCR organized the ‘Sahasra Chandi Yag’. After Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) became Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in 2022, KCR once again performed the ‘Rajashyamala Yaga’ on the occasion of opening the party office in Delhi.

At the moment, as the elections are approaching, KCR has once again initiated the Rajashyamala Yagam. This yagam, which is being held at his farm in Erravalli, will last for 3 days starting from November 1. The yagam is being supervised by Swarupanandendra Swami, Visakhapatnam Sharada Peethadhipathi. A total of 200 ritviks from the states of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana are participating in this yagam. On the first day, KCR and his wife will perform Goupuja as a part of the Yagam. On the second day, Ritviks will conduct parayanam and homam. On the third day, Chandiyagam and Purnahuti will be performed.

Performing the Rajashyamala Yaga before the elections is a sentimental move by KCR. It seems that KCR believes that by conducting the Rajshyamala Yagam once again, his party will secure victory in the upcoming elections, just as he did in the last election. It is said that KCR is conducting this yagam to seek divine guidance in addition to his own strategies. Whether this sentiment associated with the yagam will be helpful for KCR’s party in regaining power in Telangana will be known on December 3rd with the announcement of election results.
