jaggareddy

Among the parties contesting in the Telangana assembly elections, except for BRS and BSP, it is unclear who the chief ministerial candidates of the other parties are. KCR, the CM, the chief of the BRS party, and the state president of the BSP, RS Praveen Kumar, are the CM candidates for their respective parties. Congress and BJP, who claim to be the alternative to BRS, have not yet finalized their CM candidate. Leaks suggest that the BC leader might be given a chance as the chief ministerial candidate on behalf of the BJP, but it remains to be clarified whether this announcement will be made before or after the election. Additionally, there is intense competition within the Congress party for the Chief Minister position, with several senior leaders proclaiming themselves as the CM candidate. Recently, TPCC working president and Sangareddy MLA Jaggareddy has also joined this list.

I will become the Chief Minister… : MLA Jagga Reddy

Congress MLA Jaggareddy made interesting comments while participating in Dussehra celebrations held in the Sangareddy constituency. Jagga Reddy said that if he receives the blessings of the people of Sangareddy and Telangana, he aspires to serve as the Chief Minister in the future. Jaggareddy acknowledged that he has reached this position only with the blessings of the people and emphasized the strong bond between himself and Sangareddy. Jaggareddy dismissed the criticism that he is inaccessible to his constituents, asserting that his wife and followers are always there for the people. He also highlighted his willingness to support the party cadre in any difficulty. He appealed to the people of Sangareddy to elect him as MLA once again in the upcoming assembly elections.

Many CM aspirants in Congress

The Congress party has not officially announced its chief ministerial candidate, as it is not their practice to do so before elections. Making such an announcement would pose a challenging task of reconciling the senior members of the party. Therefore, the Congress is unwilling to take the risk of declaring a candidate prior to the elections. Nevertheless, numerous leaders within the party have expressed their desire to assume the position of Chief Minister. Prominent figures such as TPCC chief Revanth Reddy, CLP leader Bhatti Vikramarka, MPs Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Uttam Kumar Reddy are vying for the CM post. The party’s bigwig Jana Reddy recently stated his intention to compete for the role as well. Even though they may not be participating in this election, Congress MLAs have declared their preparedness to assume the position of Chief Minister if directed by the high command.

Reddy vs Velama

The dominance of the Reddy community in the Congress party is an undeniable fact. Furthermore, the Telangana BJP is also led by Reddy community leader Kishan Reddy. It is projected that this election battle is between Velama and Reddy communities. BRS is led by Velama, while Congress and BJP are led by Reddy leaders. Following the formation of Telangana as a separate state, the power has shifted from the Reddy community to the Velama community. As KCR knows the political impact of Reddy community, he given priority them in the BRS government. For the upcoming elections, the BRS has allocated 40 MLA tickets to members of the Reddy community.  The Congress party’s initial list of 55 candidates includes 17 individuals from the Reddy community, while the BJP’s initial list of 52 candidates includes 12 Reddy candidates, highlighting the political impact of the Reddy community. Currently, half a dozen leaders within the Congress party are projecting themselves as candidates for the Chief Minister post. The majority of these leaders belong to the Reddy community, and they are hopeful of the Congress being victorious in the elections.
