The MASSiest Dasara from South Indian Cinema

Dasara this year provides a unique flavour of mass cinema to audience. Four films releasing from Tamil, Telugu and Kannada industry have kept audiences waiting for months now. Thalapathy Vijay’s Leo, Balakrishna’s Bhagwanth Keshari, Ravi Teja’s Tiger Nageswar Rao and Shiva Rajkumar’s Ghost are all releasing this weekend to  keep the audience busy over the long Dasara Weekend.

Fans have filled the platform X (formerly known as Twitter) with crazy edits of the films.

LEO hype is Real

It wouldn’t be wrong to call Leo the most hyped film of the year so far. The Tamil Film has secured $1Million+ advanced bookings in US market and 100Cr.+ in presales in India. As Thalapathy Vijay joins Loki Cinematic Universe, fans are hyped about the project since Lokesh Kanagaraj announced the film and released some behind the scenes footage from sets in Kashmir. Post the trailer release there was buzz that the film is an adaptation from an Hollywood film named “A history of violence” which is based on a best selling book.

Though the promotions of the film has been limited but Lokesh Kanagaraj knows his audience. He singlehandedly promoted the film while making a hype that, “DO NOT MISS THE FIRST 10 MINUTES OF LEO”. Recently Udayanidhi Stalin also tweeted about the film after watching a special show. It seems the film has much to offer in Loki Cinematic Universe(LCU) than the underrated “A history of violence”. Fans expect the film to be a commercial come back of Thalapathy Vijay. The festive season will add to the flavors. There is a rush online for tickets in all south Indian states. Anirudh Music is another selling point for the film.

The film is releasing in four languages, Kannada, Tamil, Hindi, and Telugu. Lokesh Kanagaraj is known to be notorious with surprise cameos in his films. The hype around cameos from other characters from the LCU is very high.

Bhagavanth Kesari to Roar

Buckle up, Telugu cinema lovers, because a storm is brewing on the silver screen this Dasara season! Bhagavanth Kesari, the highly anticipated Indian Telugu-language action comedy-drama film, is all set to sweep you off your feet with its exhilarating storyline, Balayya mass effect, and foot-tapping music. Directed by the brilliant Anil Ravipudi and produced by the dynamic duo Sahu Garapati and Harish Peddi under Shine Screens banner, this movie promises an unforgettable cinematic experience.

Nandamuri Balakrishna, popularly known as Balayaa has given back to back hits through mass cinemas like Akhanda and Veera Simha Reddy, now he is back to the screens with yet another mass entertainer of Bhagavanth Kesari. The movie is releasing on 19th October 2023, as a direct competition to LEO. The songs and BGM by Thaman sounds energetic and people are also hyped about the work of Sree Leela in the film. The movie is only releasing in Telugu Language but the mass appeal of Balakrishna is giving fight to LEO with regards to pre-bookings.

Tiger Nageswar Rao to hunt

Another project from Telugu cinema Tiger Nageswar Rao is also releasing this Dasara Season. Mass Maharaja’s action thriller based on a real life daredevil thief Tiger, is releasing on 20th October. A day after Leo’s release. Cine buffs and fans of Ravi Teja are eagerly waiting with bated breath anticipating India’s biggest thief performing some larger-than-life action sequences on the big screens. In the meantime, the director of ‘Tiger Nageswara Rao’, Vamsee shared an inspiring behind-the-scenes moment featuring Ravi Teja from the set.

‘Tiger Nageswara Rao’ is based on true rumors, is based on legend from 1970s, a thief who dominates the realm of terror in Stuartpuram and also masterminds a series of daring heists, where his ingenious methods of outwitting the cops. The movie stars Ravi Teja along with Anupam Kher, Renu Desai, Jisshu Sengupta, Murali Sharma, and the leading ladies Gayatri Bhardwaj and Nupur Sanon in prominent roles. Fans are excited for the project as Ravi Teja is doing something apart from his regular masala films, after a long time. This will an all out action thriller for Ravi Teja after a very long time.

The mass entertainer is releasing in five languages, Kannada, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Telugu. Recently Ravi Teja also featured in a series of interviews with some popular Hindi podcasts and events to promote his film. His command over Hindi language is much better than any other south Indian stars at the moment. The movie is expected to do better in Hindi belts as Ravi Teja’s last film Dhamaka also did pretty good business in North India.

Ghost is here – The Real OG

The mass action thriller starring Dr. Shiva Rajkumar and Anupam Kher in prominent roles. This flick from Kannada cinema is also in the race of Dasara releases and fans of Shivanna are excited as this movie gives glimpse of AI generated younger version of Shiva Rajkumar.

The Kannada star was last seen in Rajnikanth’s superhit mass entertainer Jailer in a guest appearance and he stole the show in south Indian box office. His screen presence was amazing to experience along with Rajnikanth on the same screen. Ghost is releasing with Leo on 19th October. The film is releasing in five languages, Kannada, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Telugu.
