On Monday, Revanth while addressing a public meeting at Narsapur, in Medak district, Revanth Reddy rebutted Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s statements against ‘Indiramma rajyam.’

Revanth said, ‘Indiramma rajyam’ denoted the distribution of 25 lakh acres of land and housing to the poor, setting up of irrigation projects, giving podu lands to scheduled tribes and reservations to women in local body elections.

Mr. Reddy said the arrogance of KCR, who started his political career under Indira Gandhi’s rule, has reached new levels that he is mocking Indira Gandhi’s rule that brought Green Revolution in the country providing food to all and ensured Dalits lived with their head held high and dignity.

“Wasn’t it Indiramma Rajaym who helped you contest and win the post of single-window director in Siddipet? Have you forgotten that it was Indira Gandhi’s son Sanjay Gandhi who appointed you the president of the Youth Congress?” he asked.

The TPCC chief said that KCR turned the State into a graveyard while promising the people a ‘Bangaru Telangana’. He claimed that Telangana topped in farmers suicides, liquor sales, and unemployment in the country. He alleged that bad governance was reigning supreme in the State. “It is high time to send KCR home,” Revanth fumed.

He remarked that despite the substantial funds invested by the State, the Medigadda project was on the verge of collapse. In contrast, the projects implemented during the Congress rule have proven to be durable and resilient over time.

Mr.Reddy sought an apology from KCR for demeaning Indira Gandhi’s rule. “KCR has humiliated the self-respect of Telangana while Congress party gave them the confidence and respect distributing lands. Land is not just an asset but represents self-confidence”, he said.

Revanth Reddy also appealed to the voters of Narsapur to teach a fitting lesson to Sunitha Laxma Reddy, who defected to BRS and was now in the fray as a candidate from the ruling party.

What did KCR say on Sunday?

Speaking at an election rally on Sunday, KCR called upon the people to make a choice between governance by a party that has come into existence for statehood to Telangana and brought about a positive change in every field and the Congress’ promised ‘Indiramma rajyam’ filled with misery.

On the Congress’ talk of bringing back ‘Indiramma rajyam’, the BRS chief had asked people whether they wanted back the days of hunger, drought, Naxalite movement, and frequent communal clashes in Hyderabad. He said that it was the Congress that was responsible for relegating the combined Mahabubnagar district, known as Palamuru, to backwardness, thereby forcing people to migrate in search of livelihood.

“The Congress leaders should be ashamed of themselves for not providing even drinking water to the people of Palamuru with two major rivers, Krishna and Tungabhadra flowing through the district even after their five-decade rule. By denying water to irrigation, they belittled Palamuru and Telangana that it was not suitable for paddy production and farmers could only go for jowar cultivation. Today, Kollapur constituency produces 1.5 lakh tonnes of paddy every season,” said KCR.
