Telangana Elections: KCR predicts coalition government at Centre after 2024 LS polls

Modi Vs. KCR

Addressing a Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) election rally in Nizamabad on Wednesday, BRS president and Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao said, after the 2024 parliamentary elections in India, coalition politics is expected to take center stage, with the influence of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress likely to wane.

It is important to note here that, there are 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana.

KCR alleged that Congress uses Muslims only as a vote bank. He said, “Congress does drama. It is talking of closing down ‘nafrat ki dukan’. I am asking who demolished Babri Masjid. If you are secular, you should always be secular and your work should prove this.” On the other hand, he also slammed the BJP for dividing people in the name of religion the BJP deprived the people of their rightful share during the last ten years in Telangana.

He mentioned that over the past decade, Telangana has served as a model of communal harmony, with no instances of riots and the absence of curfews throughout the region.

As long as KCR is alive, Telangana will remain secular,” he said while asserting that his administration has upheld peace and law enforcement over the past decade.

He accused the two major national parties of engaging in vindictive politics in terms of development, alleging that they were withholding programs, schemes, and institutions. Using Telangana as an example, he pointed out that despite the sanctioning of 157 medical colleges to states since 2014, the BJP-led Central Government had not allocated a single one to Telangana. Furthermore, he highlighted that not a single Navodaya School, as specified in the Act, had been granted to any district in Telangana by the BJP Government.

During the 10 years of the Congress regime in undivided Andhra Pradesh before the formation of Telangana, only Rs 2,000 crore was spent on the welfare of minorities, whereas the BRS government spent Rs 12,000 crore.

KCR said Telangana has achieved progress in all sectors during the BRS rule. He said at the time of the formation of the state, it ranked 19th or 20th in terms of per capita income but now it has become number one.

KCR asked the people to back BRS not just in the upcoming Assembly elections but also in the Lok Sabha elections scheduled for April-May, he emphasized that securing victory in all constituencies would enhance the party’s leverage to safeguard the State’s interests more effectively. “BRS will play a key role at the Centre after the next Lok Sabha elections,” he said
