Kantara A Legend Chapter-1 First Look Teaser : Rishab Shetty promises another EPIC!

The box office success of Kantara from Hombale Films, was nothing sort of divine. The makers even termed the movie as Divine Success. Following the success of the film, Rishab Shetty, promised to work on a prequel to the story. Fans have been itching to learn more about Panjuluri Deva’s universe. On Monday, Rishab Shetty shared the trailer for Kantara The Legend – Chapter 1, the prequel to the first movie in the series, on social media.

In Kantara, Rishab wore at least three distinct appearances; however, the fan favorite is when he turns in to Panjuluri Deva in the climax. In the teaser, he sports a completely new appearance, yogi like long hair, a toned figure, and a trishool in hand, Rudraksh beads and a classic look resonating Lord Shiva.

Taking the first film in to account, Rishab’s character name was Shiva, in this teaser, Rishab is portraying a character that set in ancient time, adorning the look similar to Lord Shiva himself. The prequel will be set in past around 300 CE. “During the reign of Kadambas,” as it mentions in the teaser.

The Hidden Details

The teaser doesn’t give out much. It just introduces Rishab’s same Kantara character, Shiva looking at the full moon with Cryptic voice over. The voice says “Light! In light everything is visible! but this is not just light it is a vision!” The light which illuminates past and future.“

As it may look, the film would be set in past and present. The past being the first appearance of Panjuluri Deva during the reign of Kadambas. For those who don’t know, the Kadambas were a Karnataka royal family who lived from 345 to 540 CE. They controlled the Konkan and northern Karnataka. According to a legend, Lord Shiva’s sweat is said to have produced the three-eyed four-armed warrior, Trilochana Kadamba. You can find more details on this legend online.

The present day Shiva, will probably be connected to the past through visions of war and tension that will be very premise of this prequel. The teaser has surely tickled the fans enough to be excited for updates from the makers of Kantara.

The project will be another Pan India film with multi language release and the storyline will be much complex than the first Kantara. This month, where we have big movie releases like Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal, Prabhas’s Salaar, Shahrukh Khan’s Dunki, a simple teaser of Kantara has added more flair for cine lovers.
