At the Coca-Cola arena in Dubai, when 333 players went under the hammer, Aussie players dominated the bidding and broke records. The Kolkata Knight Riders paid Rs.24.75 crore to the left-arm fast bowler Mitchell Starc; he became the most expensive player in the history of IPL. Interestingly, IPL winning prize money is Rs.20 Crores. Among Indian Cricketers, Indian medium pace bowler Harshal Patel emerged as the most exorbitant player with the bracket of Rs.11.75 Crore.

TOP FIVE BUYS IN IPL 2024 AUCTION

Australia’s Mitchell Starc became the most expensive player ever sold at the IPL Auction when the Kolkata Knight Riders acquired the pacer’s services for Rs. 24.75 crore.

World Cup-winning captain Pat Cummins fetched the second-best bid, going to Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs. 20.50 crore.

The third-best bid is from Chennai Super Kings, which splashed Rs 14 crore on Kiwi Batsman Daryl Mitchell.

The fourth costliest pick is by Punjab Kings for Indian Bowler Harshal Patel for Rs 11.75 crore.

The fifth most expensive player is West Indies Pace Bowler Alzarri Joseph, bought by RCB for 11.50 crore.

Uncapped Indian Players who Fetched High Price

The uncapped Indian players showcase their skills in the domestic circuit, which attracted high bids from the IPL franchises. Let us see the list of young players who got higher bids. 

The 20-year-old Sameer Rizvi from UP fetching INR 8.40 Cr by CSK base price of 20 Lakh

Shahrukh Khan (Gujarat Titans) heft sum – Rs 7.40 Crore in 2024 from the Base price of 40 Lakh 

Kumar Kushagra, the 20-year-old Wicket-Keeper batsman from Jharkhand, was picked by Delhi Capitals for INR 7.20 Crore from a base price of 20 Lakh.

Shubham Dubey, the 29-year-old hard-hitting southpaw from Vidarbha, was picked by Rajasthan Royals for INR 5.8 Crore, who fended off interest from Delhi Capitals. from a base price of 20 Lakh.

Royal Challengers Bangalore bought left-arm medium-fast bowler Yash Dayal for a substantial Rs.5 Crore from a 20 lakh base prize.

Gujarat Titans secured Robin Minz, the Jharkhand Wicket-Keeper Batsman, for Rs.3.60 crore. He became the first Tribal Cricketer from IPL.

Tamil Nadu Left-arm Orthodox spinner M. Siddharth joined Lucknow Super Giants for Rs.2.4 Crore. 

The 22-year-old Jharkhand pacer Sushant Mishra spent INR 2.2 Crore for his services. 

These players have the potential and could significantly impact the upcoming IPL. The stage is set for these young lads to express their cricketing skills on grand platforms and rise as stars for the future Indian Team.
