The Indian men have never won a Test match in South Africa. The fact that England, Australia, and Sri Lanka are the only foreign teams to have won here won’t make the Indians feel better about their loss, especially since they think they are the only ones who can do it. However, India has played 23 tests in South Africa but won only 4 South Africa is the only major Test-playing nation against which India has not won a series in the longest format.
Rohit Sharma’s players must be expecting to break through the final barrier this time. To do so, they need a few things to go their way, including something over which they have little influence. Shardul Thakur said “South Africa is one of the most difficult countries to play Test cricket in. Even if we play all over the country, this is one country where you can’t expect [to know] what you will get from the pitch.”

Will India beak the South Africa’s fortress?
Even though Mohammed Shami’s absence is a big loss, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj can still do much damage. Only Virat Kohli has an average of more than 50 in Tests in South Africa (51.35). K.L. Rahul got an incredible hundred as an opener here in 2021–22, but how the middle order plays is very important for India to win the series. Do we now have a chance? The bowling line-up of Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah, Prasidh Krishna, Mohammed Siraj, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja would provide an edge to the Indian Team.

How will Gill, Iyer, and Rahul face off against Rabada, Ngidi, Jansen, and Coetzee, who are all very good fast bowlers? This will determine the game. Dean Elgar, who is going to retire from international cricket after this series, Temba Bavuma, who is captain, and Aiden Markram are capable ones who can prevent India from making history.
Rohit Sharma said, “We have never won a series here, so that’s a big opportunity in itself for us to do well here in trying to achieve what nobody has ever achieved in this part of the world.” This time, it’s a shorter series, just two Tests in one in Centurion and Cape Town.
