The titan MonsterVerse returns with the fifth installment with the new trailer of “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.” The film promises another epic battle where a new threat emerges from within the earth and Kong is not able to stop it alone.
As the trailer suggests, the villain will be the huge titan chimp ‘Scar King’ with a deadly army, who will threaten the empire of Kong in the Hollow Earth. Kong is also seen raising a Baby, that seems like a big orangutan baby, how the makers do justice to the storyline as per the modern storytelling, is yet to be seen.
Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry and Kaylee Hottle reprise their 2021 roles as Dr. Illene Andrews, Bernie Hayes and Jia. The movie will delve more into the Hollow Earth concept than the little human stories.
IMDB official synopsis gives away very little about the film “The New Empire” : “ The new installment in the Monsterverse puts the mighty Kong and the fearsome Godzilla against a colossal threat hidden within our world that threatens the existence of their species and our very own, as well as diving deep into the mysteries of Skull Island and beyond. Delving straight into the origins of Hollow Earth, this film will explore the ancient Titan battle that bought man and monster together forever. ”
The movie will also accommodate developments in the Apple TV Show, “The Monarch – The Legacy of Monsters” as the TV show also occurs in the same universe. Fans of Kong and Godzilla, saw an epic battle between the two titans in the last release, where both the titans fought Mechazilla and became friends. Post this battle, Kong still has the same axe he got in the last film and the evil company APEX is not in the picture anymore. The new aircrafts shown in the trailer, look more like Monarch owned crafts. More or less its a peaceful world where Kong is in Skull Island and Godzilla is sleeping in a simulation and Monarch has set up a perimeter for everything.
However when the threat comes knocking on Kong’s door, he takes it head on and probably loses the first battle. This suggests the Monarch wakes up the Godzilla for another ultimate team up. This time Godzilla looks different with pink colored power beams. The movie also shows a graveyard of Kong’s ancestors and more human visits to the hollow earth. This will be one of the biggest plots for the history of Kong in the Monsterverse.
This movie, will take the story further in the tale of humans, who now know, the earth doesn’t belong to them alone. The kind of Buzz ‘Godzilla Minus One’ garnered in Japan box office, The New Empire is set to take it even further as fans have been asking for more from the Monsterverse.
