Nowadays, political parties extensively utilize digital media to convey their political agenda to the general public. Videos, songs, and memes targeting opponents are common forms of content that we often encounter in digital media. In the current election season, political parties are proactively implementing their digital strategies. They aim to appeal to neutral voters and the younger generation through non-political digital campaigns. As a part of this effort, non-political interviews with popular YouTubers are being planned. The BRS, Congress, and BJP have already shared non-political interviews of their leaders with popular YouTubers on social media platforms.

Are these non-political interviews part of a election strategy?

It should be noted that leaders of respective political parties engage in non-political interviews with popular YouTubers as part of their election strategy. This approach allows political leaders to communicate their views and vision to individuals, particularly the new generation of voters, who may not typically be interested in politics. Many political consultancies, which assist political parties with election strategies and campaigns, are involved in planning these interviews. These consultancies believe that by engaging in conversations with YouTubers who have a large subscriber base, the leader’s message will reach a broader audience and potentially influence the outcome of the elections. As a result, it has become a trend for popular leaders to participate in simple, non-political interviews with popular YouTubers.
