kadak singh review pema khandu

Pankaj Tripathi leads this thrilling game of truth and lies as the central character on this Zee5 Original film ‘Kadak Singh’. The effortless acting skills and command over hindi language, stills the show. The story is like a jigsaw puzzle that keeps the audience guessing throughout the movie. The unique lowkey promotions, also got the audience hyped.

The Plot

Pankaj Tripathi is a sleuth who investigates financial fraud related to a chit company, later hospitalised for a suicide attempt which ends in a retrograde amnesia. His memory is bleak, and can’t remember his children and wife. Nevertheless, he can remember his colleagues but can’t comprehend their roles in the department. The story is about A.K. Shrivastava’s (Pankaj Tripathi) partial memory loss and how he finds ways to solve the case and save his family from the scandalous attacks. The movie is structured like a Roshomon puzzle, with interlocking pieces that reveal themselves as the characters begin to narrate their stories.

The Promising Cast

Tripathi’s acting performance between a strict officer and a recovering patient is charming. It is a challenging role to act, but he delivers with ease, especially portraying multiple emotions, which makes the audience guess. Bangladeshi actor Jaya conveyed requisite moments with metered intensity. Parvathy Thiruvothu as a caretaking nurse plays an imperative role which amplifies the overall performance of the movie. Sanjana Sanghi excels, giving a compelling performance that significantly heightens the emotional impact. Jaya Ahsan makes a fantastic Bollywood debut, putting on a memorable performance.

With great suspense, the film’s first half does a good job of keeping viewers on the edge of their seats. Nevertheless, the second half sees a significant stall in the momentum. The narrative becomes muddled but ultimately becomes familiar. Director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury’s psychological thriller is like a wine, that is a acquired taste. Kadak Singh is a slow paced thriller that is written for a specific audience of this genre, other might find it slow.
