Andhra Pradesh is gearing up for an exhilarating celebration of sportsmanship and skill with its upcoming festival that promises to be a spectacle of athletic prowess. The online registrations have already begun, welcoming participants aged 15 and above, excluding volunteers and secretary staff. The festival unfolds in five enthralling categories, each promising a unique blend of traditional and modern sports.

Kittu-The Blackbuck

Kittu, the official mascot of Aadudam Andhra, epitomises agility, speed, and grace. As participants prepare for diverse sporting events, Kittu symbolises the dynamic talent showcased in this government-backed initiative.

Categories

  • Village Level (December 15-20, 2023):
    • Traditional games take centre stage, inviting men and women to showcase their skills in a variety of contests.
  • Mandal Level (December 21-January 4, 2024):
    • A diverse range of competitions awaits participants, spanning cricket, badminton, volleyball, kabaddi, kho-kho, chess, and table tennis.
  • Assembly Constituency Level (January 5-10, 2024):
    • Building on the momentum, this level serves as a stepping stone to district-wide competitions.
  • District Level (January 11-21, 2024):
    • The stakes rise as competition intensifies across the same sports seen at the Mandal Level, with a heightened level of skill on display.
  • State Level (January 22-26, 2024):
    • The pinnacle of the festival, where the top teams from districts compete for the honour of representing Andhra Pradesh at the National Level.

Team Sizes

  • Kabaddi: 12 players per team
  • Kho-Kho: 16 players per team
  • Cricket: 16 players per team
  • Volleyball: 12 players per team
  • Badminton: 2 players per team

Aadudam Andhra is Andhra Pradesh’s first ever state-wide sporting tournament launched by the Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Anyone above 15 years of age; Male & Female can participate. To register: Visit official website aadudamandhra.ap.gov.in or Call 1902 or visit your nearest Sachivalayam Office. The tournament will start on 15th December, 2023.

Distinguished Ambassadors:

The festival boasts an impressive lineup of ambassadors, each a luminary in their respective sports. From chess grandmasters like D. Harika and strategic minds like Harikrishna to Olympic weightlifting champion Karnam Malleshwari and badminton standout Chetan Anand, the ambassadorial team is a testament to the rich sporting heritage of Andhra Pradesh.

Notable figures like M.S.K Prasad, Ambati Rayudu, and Hanuma Vihari from the cricketing world, along with legendary badminton players P.V. Sindhu and Kidambi Srikanth, add further prestige to the event. The list extends to accomplished individuals in fields such as boxing, field hockey, volleyball, tennis, weightlifting, chess, and archery, creating a diverse representation of sporting excellence.
